What you’ll do
From July to September, hundreds of humpback whales arrive at Coiba National Park and the surrounding areas of Cébaco and Gobernadora Islands. These majestic creatures come to give birth to their calves and stay in our safe waters to feed.
Coiba National Park is located along the coasts of Santa Catalina, about one hour and forty-five minutes from Santiago. Upon arriving in Santa Catalina, we will take a one-and-a-half-hour speedboat ride to Coiba National Park, which, due to its size and the richness of its islands and surrounding marine waters, is one of the most important natural jewels of Panama. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005, it is recognized for its grandeur and significance in protecting marine, insular, and coastal ecosystems.
Coiba will amaze you in every corner; its richness is infinite. In the park, you can go snorkeling at islands such as Ranchería Island, or better known as Coibita. In this wonderful experience, you can observe many schools of colorful fish, white-tip reef sharks, nurse sharks, and sea turtles.
In this wonderful experience, you will have the opportunity to observe these impressive and magical whales—if we are lucky!
